Abstract:This work experience report has for objective to analyze the place of foreign literature in library and more particularly in the library of Bourges.
I led this study from the diverse tasks which were confided to me. Indeed, the study of the collection during the cataloguing, the location of the various collections during the arrangements or still the analysis of the loans by the users of the library when I was in the reception, served me as point of departure in trying to understand what place had librarians with foreign literature and how documents are then emphasized.
From municipal libraries to university libraries, BnF to digital libraries, every library manages this literature according to its own political documentary defined thanks to the charter of acquisition.

The tasks I was given enabled me to carry out this study. Indeed, the study of the collection during the cataloging, the tracking of the various collections during arrangements or the analysis of the book borrowings when I was at the reception desk helped me to understand the part played by Librarians with the foreign litterature and how the documents were emphasized.
