Où j'en suis dans mon devoir

The notion I’m going to speak about is MYTHS AND HEROES. First of all, I’m going to define this notion: A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion. A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her achievements, a superhero or maybe a role model or an icon.

So in relation with the notion, myths and heroes, my presentation will deal with this question: How can an ordinary person make the world a better place?

To answer this question, I take the example of Malala. In a first part I present you the story of Malala, and in a second part I will talk about her fight and her actions to change the conditions of women education’s.

Malala is a Pakistani she lived in Mingora where the local Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. She wrote a blog when she was 11-12 when she tells about her view on education and her life under the domination of Taliban for The BBC, she used a pseudonym to don’t be attack by Taliban. In her country she received peace prizes, and she was interviewed by press. She became a peace symbol for her country and a leading-advocate of girls’ education.

Despite the Taliban’s threat, Malala and others girls continued to go to school every day. The ideas of Malala bother Taliban and to punished her they get on the bus and they shoot her at point blank range, she was blasted at the neck and the head. She was transferred at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Britain where they saved her. After this attack, all political parties, all religion, in Pakistan prayed for Malala. In 2014, She received the Nobel prize of peace.

Despite, the repeated death threats of Taliban, Malala continued to be expressed in the different medias, she promoted the right to education for girls, she continued to fight for the women’s rights.

She is an ambitious girl, who wants to come back to Pakistan and who want to become the prime minister to make compulsory the school for girls (and boys) and to developed the women’s rights.

She wrote an autobiography named “I am Malala” where she explains her live with the pressure of Taliban, her daily struggle against the extremism of Taliban who were spreading terror. She thinks that if she is still alive it is to use her life to help others. Today she continues her fight for the women’s rights and for the girls’ education, she inspires girls and women around the world with her speeches and her writing.

As a conclusion, I think Malala is a heroin she fights against the oppression she defends girls, women and their rights, she is determined to make school compulsory, to became education accessible to everyone. She became a symbol of this fight, she is admired by people around the world for her courage and her determination.
