First i am going to talk about Mith and hero. The mith is a traditional story concerning the early history of a poeple or explaining a natural or social phenomen, and typically involving supernatural beings or event. The Hero  in mythology and folklore a person of superhuman qualities who is admired for her/his courage our outstanding achievement . But nowadays , a socity depends on heroic models poeple get their inspiration from. So, mythology includes the legends of our history, our religions, stories of how the world was created and our heroes. There are two types of heroes. The fictitious heroes like Alice in wonderland, James Bond and real heroes who live in our society like Queen Elizabeth II or those who lived in another epoch like Martin Luther King.

The question we can ask ourselves is How can asuccessful/famous poeple be considered as heroes?

I'll first focus on What does "being famous" mean?

At the second From being famous to being considered as heroes

And for finish The real heroes of life in society and history

I] What does "being famous" mean?

A sucessful carreer or being famous is a lot of fame and a big influence in th World . For exmple Emma Watson is an actress but she does other things in politics she defends women rights and education for women . Morewover being famous means that theperson she is best in what she is involved in .

We have also study the case of Bill Gates infact he began to build his project which was about to became later his empire in his garage. Bill Gates is a cretor of Microsoft this brend is the leader in the camputer world. With the success of this project he became the richest man in the world and he shares his money as a goodwill ambassador.

By being famous the celebrities are admired by fans wherever they go. They can influence people. Some of them diffuse their ideas hoping that their fans and the other people will fllow their choice. This is what happend with presidential election in america but also in France. For exemple Chuck Norris who is ans actor known worldwide annouced that it supports Donald Trump. On the contrary, Morgan Freeman who is also very famous of the general public has lent his voice for a presidential compaign spot oh Hilary Clinton. In the oral comprehension « qhe becomes multi-million dollar brand ». We learn Marlyn M. permite to sold many products thanks to compagnies who used her image. She works with compagnies as Coca Cola, Mercedes… Her image permite to sold many products even after is death.

Every individual to his own vision of the hero who can be famous or not.

II] From being famous to being considered as heroes

Historically, man needed heroes: once can be found in literary works, today with the evolution of society appears on media. Younger look require model, person relate to. Hence, they turn to celebrities like singers and sportsmen. Young people write stories named fan fiction. They’re telling stories about a celebrity which they regard as hero. They give their idoles the heroic status.

The famous person, that uses its/her reputation to help someone, can be seen like a hero. Get up to the service of other without seeking to profit off its actions is something heroic. Miley Cyrus is an example. She created a charity which helps homeless youth. She uses her talents as a singer to attract as much donors as possible. Angelina Jolie defends numerous humanitarian causes around the world. She is committed to protecting nature and animals. In 2001, she was named Goodwill ambassador for UNHCR, a ambassador which puts her notoriety, her time and her talent to assist refugees.

The committed singer is also a hero. He stands for a just cause. He claims his ideas and encourages to adopt them. He put his art in the service of a cause. John Lennon has for example written the song « Imagine » which is for a peace world, without guns, religions, borders, discriminations. Joe MacDonald sang « A song on Vietnam », song against the Vietnam war. Both are singers with strong influence. They used the music for communicate their ideas.

But can we really say that celebrities are heroes? A hero, is a person who stands out by his bravery, his exceptional merits,… A star doesn't put himself in danger in his actions, there is no a brave act. So, being famous is not sufficient to be a hero. Then, the action of/from the famous person must be sincere. Otherwise it will not be a heroic act.
When we think about (it), there are some people we can consider like heroes. It’s easy to think to the warlords like De Gaulle, Churchill, but all the soldiers who fought for France are heroes.

From our earliest childhood the heroes are present everywhere so let's discover the acts that make them heroes

III] The real heroes of life in society and history

Since the beginning of mankind, some people or groups of people have distinguished themselves by their actions, their words or their qualities and are considered heroes in society and in people's minds.  First, there is a hero recognized by society because of his abnegation like fireman. Fireman helps people all day when they are in danger. Sometimes they risked their life and perished to save them as the attentat of 11/09. On one document seen in class, an assistant chef related what he has seen.  They mobilized them to go on World Trade Center, entered on tower to incited people to came down the stairs with their 60kg of equipment on the back. Many fireman are never come back and died..  However, they save and change lot of life.
So they are admired for their achievements, noble qualities as their strength and their courage.  Their roles of rescuer give them the status of hero. In the society, they can also be an icon, a model for children, who wants to save people too.
There are also anonymous heroes, like the boy in “Clinging woman”. The woman wanted apparently  to commit suicide, but changed one’s mind. So she was hanging by her hand s from the railings of a balcony.  His calm, and his call to fireman and police has allowed to saving her. As a result he is considered as a hero by his neighbors because he saves one life.
Then there is hero who wants change the History as a defender of common values. For example, in spite of the abolition of slavery by Abraham Lincoln, discrimination against the Blacks between 1865 and 1965 was shameful and shocking. It was the time of the Jim Crow Laws. These laws forbidded to Black to be by Whites side at the school, bus, restaurant, etc. A black man and a white women were not authorized to married and have children. In the text “Forging an identity”, a mother and her daughter travelling on a segregated train are insulting and despising by the conductor because there are between Whites, on the bad wagon.
So many people fighted for freedom and equalities between Black and Whites like Rosa Parks, who said “no” to this laws or Martin Luther King, with his famous speech “I have a dream” who incited to keep hope, and many others.
Thank to determined and tough people such as Martin Luther King, the blacks achieved the abolition of the Jim Craw Laws and got Civic Rights even if the racism is also present. They change the course of History and the condition of Blacks today.
Finally, there is also many person who are an object of extreme admiration and devotion. They are icon. For example, a  lot of girl want to look like mannequin as Claudia Schiffer or Cindy Crawford. Some fans as “Belibers” will do everything to see and touch Justin Bieber. Boy wants also to look like famous sportsman who breaks records or are icon in their sport like Zinedine Zidane, Alain Bernard, etc. All of them have an impact and modify our lives. They change or have changed the course of History and the actual society.

Conclusion :   Being human and accessible, famous people have became new iconic figures. Knowing their background what they through, people admire them and thanks to their commitment to "noble causes" and the values they convey, they have become a kind of modern hero. However even if you may get some inspiration from icanic figures , in the end you will have to face reality and do your best to make your dreams comme true.
