Sujet du devoir

Bonjour,

During the depression many farmers were forced to move West to look for work ".

La chanson:

I ain't got no home

I was farmin' on the shares and always i was poor,
My crops i laid into the banker's door,
And my wife took down and died upon the cabin floor,
And i ain't got no home in this world anymore.

I ain't got no home, i'm just a ramblin around,
A hard workin' ramblin' man , i go from town to town
The police make it hard wherever i may go,
And i ain't got no home in this word anymore

Now as i look around it's mighty plain to see,
This wide wicked world is a funny place to be,
The glambin' man is rich and the workin'man is poor,
And i ain't got no home in this world anymore.

La question est celle ci:
Do you think it could happen today? Yes or no justify

In my opinion, the situation lived by this farmer could happen today. In this song, the farmer cannot make money anymore, and cannot feed his family either. The banker is richer than ever. We are now living a financial crisis in Europe. Countries like Greece are severely hit by this crisis. So this situation can happen to a Greek farmer forced to leave his farm and his land for food and money. Speculation was also a main issue in the US in 1929. The stock market went bankrupt and many companies had to close leaving millions of employees without work. Right now, the stock market is facing huge problems, the stock market is going down; the economic prospects for Europe and the US are gloomy. finger is pointed at banks that have been held responsible for the financial crisis in Europe. The huge budget deficits of countries like Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and France are making it worse.
Therefore we can compare the situation lived by this farmer during the depression with the current European and American situation. If nothing is done on the European level to save Greece from bankrupcy, Europe might live its longest economic depression. Many people might lose their home and leave their region to find a job in another country. That's exactly what is happening in Greece where 40% of young people are looking for a job overseas So a part of Europe could be abandonned and in dire conditions
