Spaces and exchanges

I am going to speak to you about the notion “spaces and exchanges”. A space it’s a place which can be defined by its people, the language they speak, the traditions they have, the customs they share, the historical events they have gone through. The exchanges is the idea of leaving something behind for a new start or to discover something different. So we can ask ourselves what impact can global cities have on people’s everyday live ?  For answer at this question we will use 3 documents as a newspaper article from The NY Time by Wayne Arnold entitled Modern Singapore and another article from cities of migration by Singh entitled Urban Diversity with a picture.

Firstly, the article speak about Mr Lee who is an important person on Singapore, he help the country become modern and develop after its independence. He led Singapore for 31 years and died in march 2015. But it was also on critical person. Some people said he was a dictory because he control the media, suppresse free speech, he persuaded some people of the well being of putting some limits and they didn’t free to open a firm. But he rest a world figure because it’s and international political and financial leader. With him, Singapore is an economic powerhouse with one of the world’s highest power capital comes and high quality schools, health and public service.

Moreover, the document speak about the diversity at Singapore.There is a message written in different language. The peoples come from India, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, many immigrants come from heightbouroug. Immigrants come to find a better life, for the job. The urban concentration creates opportunities to be exploited. We can find many skills with people of different origins. They occupe jobs like “bus drivers”, factory workers, domestic or construction workers.

Then, the document which is an internet article from cities of migration is too about Singapore. This article have a picture with a tee-shirt, in the middle of it, there is six rules about the cities : “you are forbidden to smoke” or “you are not allowed to spits.” Otherwise you may be charged a fine up to $1.000. This strict code of conduct has been created for appear like a solution to the problems in order to create cleaner and healthier urban spaces.

To conclude, we can consider that the globalization have a massive role in terms of exchange, she is enriching and thank’s so that we can open our spirit and learn full of new culture. Indeed, thanks to new tool such as internet for example can be share all around the world in a very short time.
