I'm going to talk about the notion of "spaces and exchanges". This notion deals with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupied and the interaction between men and in different societies. Our world was built on the exploration of new space. The cultural, economic, sociological difference has characterized our modern world. The different spaces of the world are nowadays more and more connected to each other. The exchanges can appear in many forms : people, trade and sharing of information. In class, we focused on one form of exchange : the immigration. So, Why did people immigrate to the USA? to answer this question firstly, we will look at the history and the causes of immigration, then we will talk about the motivations of people to immigrate to the USA, the dangers of the trip and why life was better for immigrants in the USA than in their country of origin, and finally we will see the vision of immigrants of the USA compared with the vision of their country of origin. In order to illustrate this notion I've chosen two documents : a recording called " New horizons, " a text " A hard path to hope " and a text" Rosa vs Evelyn"

( l'introduction est-elle complète....? )
Mexico can only offer limited job opportunities and that's why many Mexicans dream of crossing the border to find success iwith better prospects in the US. The recording talks about Mexican's dreams : leave Mexico for the US, have a job,get papers, came his family. There are better living conditions, better salaries and better education for their children in the US. The document explain that People migrate for many different reasons. These reasons can be classified as economic ( moving to find work or follow a particular career path ), social ( moving somewhere for a better quality of life ot o be closer to family or friends ), political ( movinng to escape political persecution or war ) or environmental ( causes of migration include natural disasters such as flooding ). Some people choose to migrate, eg someone who moves to another country to enhance their career opportunities. Some people are forcd to migrate, eg someone who moves due to war or famine. ( je ne sais pas si toute cette partie est cohérente )
Secondly, the document "Face Reality" written by James A Michener in Texas. This text deals with immigration to America. People emigrated to the United States because they sought wealth, freedom, religious tolerance, a better life and escaped poverty, political oppression, religious and economic persecution of their own country. Immigrants faced many dangers and difficulties on their way to America. They had to save money for the trip. They had to leave their country of origin and say goodbye to the people they loved and would never see again. To go to America, they decided to pay for the guides to cross the borders and that made them spend an atrocious journey. The Mexican people have been mistreated and manipulated. The journey to freedom has become a nightmare and the most horrible of all is their is for some of the end of life ... This shows how dangerous the border between the United States and Mexico is. Thus, in America today, there are Mexicans who cross the border from the United States, United States to Rio Grande or the Arizona Desert. Therefore, a large wall was built. The border acts as a magnet for Mexican immigrants who dream of a better life in the United States. In fact, vacancies are limited in Mexico and living standards are much lower than in the United States. Life was better for immigrants in the United States than in their country of origin, because in the United States everything was new, there was no social barrier. Immigrants could forget who they were in the old world and the fixed place they had in this society. They had to look to the future. In the United States, if they worked hard, they could make money. In the United States, there was no political oppression or religious persecution as in their country of origin.

( je ne sais pas si tout est cohérent, mon plan avec mon développement)
