Au début du 20e siecle, la Grande-Bretagne gardait le souvenir des idéaux de l'époque victorienne. Cependant la 1ere Guerre Mondiale changea radicalement la société britannique, la croissance économique ralentit (suite à des difficultés de commerce avec ses colonies) et donc après la guerre elle subit un changement social : la création du Labour Party. Avec cette nouveauté, il s'ensuie des réformes sociales comme nous pouvons le voir dans le cartoon de 1908.
Au premier plan, on peut voir l'icône de l'Angleterre Mr. Bull montrait à Keir Hardie (le premier président du Labour Party) la liste des lois du Labour Party. Il est notait que la Grande-Bretagne(symbolisait par John Bull) accepte ces changements sociales seulement parce qu'elles font partie du Labour Party.
Au deuxième plan, nous pouvons observer une pancarte où sont inscrits les changements sociaux. Ils concernent principalement la classe ouvrière : ce sont des projets de loi pour la compensation des ouvriers, la création de repas pour les enfants dans les écoles, le changement du temps de travail pour les mineurs, la création de pension de vieillesse et l'accommodation des chômeurs face à la société.
Nous pouvons conclure, que le Travail avait un rôle important dans les changements sociaux de la Grande Bretagne dans le début du 20°s.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Great Britain remembered ideals of victorian period. However the 1st World war changed radically the British society, the economic growth slows down (further to difficulties of trade with its colonies) and thus after the war it undergoes a social change: the creation of the Labour Party. With this novelty, there are from reforms social as we can see him in the cartoon of 1908. In the foreground, we can see the icon of England Mr Bull showed to Keir Hardie (the first president of the Labour Party) the list of the laws of the Labour Party. It is noted that Great Britain (symbolized by John Bull) accept these social changes only because they are a member of the Labour Party.
In the second plan, we can observe a sign where are registered the social changes. They concern mainly the working class: they are bills for the compensation of the workers, the creation of the meal for the children in schools, change of the working time for the miners, creation of old-age pension and accommodation of the unemployed persons in front of the society. We can conclude, that the Work had an important role in the social changes of Great Britain in the beginning of the 20th century.
