Dear Diary,
Another day has passed, just the same as always. If only I could have a friend, just to see how it’s like. Not to be judged, not to be insulted, not to be alone… But it seems that people in that school are just not willing to be friendly. It’s like they have no goal in life but to make others miserable.
Today they were no better than any other day. I wouldn’t care at all what they said if they didn’t do it so “secretively” – like I’m stupid and don’t know what’s going on. I know what they say behind my back. All that stuff about how much I am ugly or stupid. I wish I could say that I didn’t care… but it hurts. I mean, I know I’m ugly. I know I’ll never be part of the “populars”. It’s not like it’s any news to me… but for some reason it still hurts.
And they make up stories about me. Like one of them is that I can’t read or write… One day, they even told me not to come back to high school again because as I had never learnt the alphabet I had to go back to primary school… Can’t they see that I just have learning disabilities? Sometimes I wish I could just shout at them that I’m just slow, not stupid… But they laugh even more when I do it. And anyway, no one cares of what I say… or think… or feel…
I don’t understand why everyone has to be so mean to people who are different from them. If only they could show me care and be willing to know a little more about me. I’m not a useless waste of matter! I’m not just good at being teased and mocked! I was told that no one would ever like to spend a day with me… Am I not good enough for anyone?
Sometimes I tend to believe that I’m not - it’s not like anyone will ever love me anyway…
Tomorrow will be another day, a dreadful lonely useless day… Just the same as always.
Mary
