1. How many hours do people work a day/a week
It depends on your position. If they are managers, they work over 35 hours a week, but if they are workers, they work 35 hours a week.
2. Are there paid holidays?
Yes there are. But again it depends on your position. A manager is entitled to 5 weeks of vacation and 10 compensation days.
A worker has only 5 weeks.
3. What kind of clothes do people have to wear?
It is casual. No suit is required.
4. What are the 10 most important/the basic rights working people have?
They can go on strike
There are unions in the company.
There is a works council that closely works with the management on rules and law.
Pregnant women are protected during their pregnancy and cannot be fired during that time
Every two years a survey is organized about the work conditions.
A health and security committee is elected every four years to check the security rules in force in the company
Every employee who has children is entitled to three sick child days paid by the company.
Work over 48 hours a week is not allowed.
5. What welfare benefits do you receive when losing their job? (couverture sociale quand perte d’emploi)
6. What kind of qualification and diploma, certificates etc. do people need?
It depends on the position. A manager usually has a master's degree, employees have usually a HS degree or college degree, workers as forklift operators have a professional degree like CAP.
7. What is the approximate range of payment and what kind of flat can you afford for that salary? (basic-regular-luxary) quel type de logement pouvez-vous vous offrir avec votre salaire? (de base, normal ou de luxe)
I can only afford a regular flat because I live in the Paris region and the real estate market is very expensive. My salary is fine;
8. How many years must you work before going on retirement?
42 years like all the French workers in the private sector.

9. At what age can you go on retirement?
At 62 like all the French people working in the private sector
10. Are there any physical or psychological diseases directly connected to your job? (maladies professionnelles)
Not to my job.
11. What motivation is there to improve the results of your work?
Unfortuntately none. The only good thing is that I can combine my professional life with my family life.
12. Do both adults have to work to support family?
No but it is preferable if you want to remain independent financially speaking.
13. Who takes care of your children?
Me (I only have one and the other is in my womb:-)
14. Do both parents have maternity leave and how long?
Yes. For me it 4 months I guess. I will find it out next year when I deliver my little girl.

5. What welfare benefits do you receive when losing their job? (couverture sociale quand perte d’emploi)
You are entitled to unemployment benefits but you have to be fired or laid off. If you resign, it is harder to get them.
