Johnny Depp is one of the most popular american actor at the present time. He is an actor many-sided and that is why I have chosen him.

The beginning
Johnny Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on June 9,1963 but he grew up in Florida. He is the son of a waitress and an engineer and has a brother and two sisters. Before cinema, he showed interest in music and had a band. By the time he was 16, he did the first part of a concert of Iggy Pop. In 1984, he had his first little part in the horror movie “A Nightmare on Elm Street” of Wes Craven. Then his band drove apart and Johnny decided to turn in the cinema. He began studying acting in Los Angeles. The lessons paid off in 1987 because he had the part of Tom Hanson in the television series '21 Jump Street' who made him the teenagers idol. He played this part for 4 seasons.

His career as an cinema actor
3 years later,when he was 27, he was the lead actor of the drama 'Cry-Baby' of John Waters. A few months later, Tim Burton gave him the part of Edward in his movie 'Edward Scissorhands' what has been a success and made Johnny an international star. It was the beginning of a great cooperation.
By the early 90's, he played in 'Benny & Joon' of Jeremiah Chechik and in 'Arizona dream' of Emir Kusturica.
In 1994, he met again Tim Burton for his movie 'Ed Wood' where he won the ALFS Award for the actor of the year. 2 years later, Johnny was in 'Dead Man' of Jim Jarmusch. At the end of the 90's, he played in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' of Terry Gilliam where he had a Golden Aries for the best foreign actor and he directed his first movie 'The brave'. Then when he was 37, Johnny rejoined Tim Burton for 'Sleepy Hollow' where he won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for the favorite actor in a horror movie.
In 2003, he was elected actor of the year by the Hollywood Film Festival and got the part of Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' of Gore Verbinski where he won 4 prizes. Next year he played in 'Neverland' of Marc Forster.
In 2005, he joined again Tim Burton in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. One year later, he continued to play Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' and he won 7 prizes for it! In 2007, he played in the third Pirates of the Caribbean :'At World's End' and in 'Sweeney Todd : The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' of Tim Burton once again where he won 5 prizes.
A few years later he had a part in 'Alice in Wonderland' of his partner Tim Burton and in 'The tourist' of Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. In 2011, he was in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' and gave his voice in 'Rango' of Gore Verbinski.
In all,Johnny has been nominated 64 times and won 24 prizes.

His private life
Johnny is one of the most generous actors of Hollywood. He gives a lot of money to charities. For instance, he is concerned by the cause of American Indians and he has bought a territory for them. He lived a love story for 14 years with Vanessa Paradis and had 2 children named Lily Rose and Jack John.

Johnny Depp has participated in a lot of different movies and he plays with fantasy and emotion. He is endearing and that is why he is one of the most favorite personality.
