I am going to talk about the notion « myths and heroes ». First of all I would like to give a definition of this notion:  

A hero is a story featuring supernatural beings, imaginary actions, collective fantasies, etc..A hero is a person who is admired for his or her achievements, qualities and for a great courage.

 In order to illustrate this notion, I have chosen to talk about few american heroes.

I will use 4 documents.

My first document is a picture of Martin Luther King, giving his spech « I have a Dream » in 1963, in Washington. He became a hero in the sixties, as the leader of the African-american Civil Rights Movement. He fought all his life for equality among races, and his tragic death in 1968 turned him into a legend. Fifty years after his death, he is still seen as one of the most prominent hero of the 20th century.

«I have a dream» became one of the most famous speeches of all time. Even Barack Obama cites it as an inspiration.

 My second document is a text of Malala. She is fought for girl’s education in Pakistan. Indeed it shows the influence of the Taliban in the Pakistani valley. She referred in particular to the public floggings and destruction of girls schools, banning television, dance and music.

This girl is considered a heroin because she fought for the girls right to get an education, not only in Pakistan but all over the world.

She knew that, by doing this, she risked her life, she had been threatened before.

Finally I speak of the american dream. The american dream is that anyone who works really hard can succeed, become rich and have a great life, no matter where they come from. This is a chance available to all. The American dream is for many people viewed as a myth, but it is nevertheless one of the main engines that allow people to migrate to the United States.

Martin Luther King and Malala are great examples of the american dream, having worked really hard to attain immense levels of success.

We can also relate these document to the notion «the idea of progress» as what Martin Luther King did contributed to a change in rights for black people in the USA.
