Edinburgh

Introduction:

Scotland is a region in the north of the United Kingdom.

Since 1532, the capital has been Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is the second largest city in Scotland after Glasgow.

Edinburgh has been the seat of the Scottish Parliament since its recovery in 1999.

This city is mythical because it was built on the subduction volcano of Arthur's Seat.

Arthur's Seat, is an active volcano during the Carboniferous Period, is said to have taken its name from more legends about King Arthur.

The medieval Gallian poem "Y Gododdin" refers to it. Indeed, this poem evokes a warrior supposed to be King Arthur. The fame of this warrior was so great that the castle and the volcano were named after him.

This castle (Edinburgh Castle) has been used for military purposes for 300 years.

According to a legend, it shelters many ghosts especially that of Lady Janet Douglas, who, accused of witchcraft, was condemned to be burned on the esplanade of the castle. Indeed, many Scottish castles are said to be haunted.

There is also the famous Murrayfield Stadium. It is in the latter that the international meetings of the Scottish team take place.

Conclusion:

To conclude, Edinburgh is a mythical city of Scotland because it was built on a volcano present in Arthurian legends; this city has a haunted castle and there is Murrayfield Stadium
