In the text, we can see that Bridie meet a man that she had never seen. This kind of situation is called a blind date. What are the dangers for her? What could the risks involved be ?First, I think that it is not stupid to come with a friend, because we don't know the person even if we communicate with. For exemple, Bridie doesn't know if Pat is not a murderer, or maybe a pervert. He could come with other people and take away her in a secret place to kill her, or to rape her.. It's more and more frequent today.
Moreover, it is possible that the person want meet her to have the papers for the nationality. Bridie could have this situation, because Pat is an Indian and she believed that he was english. Furthermore we don't know if he has the english nationality, perhaps he wants just the papers and after he will leave her alone. We call this a grey marriage
Finally, the person could be poor and seek a house where he can live, where he can have money without working. Naturally, he belies her. He doesn't seek a serious relationship, he wants just to take advantage of her. Or maybe, he has an other wife and he seeks just a mistress, just a new life.
In conclusion, we can tell that a blind date is practical to meet persons but it's dangerous too, because we don't know who is the person that we're meeting, we don't know what he wants. So it is always important to be on our guard, we must be smart and careful. If we want meet a person, we must choose a place in which there are people, we must not to admit this person in our house if we don't know this person more.
