Day 1: Tuesday 26 April

I arrived at 5:40 a.m. to the airport of Brest. After having recorded our luggage, we went into the departure lounge. The excitement and impatience was growing. At 6:30, we left Brest, and we arrived, after, in Paris at 7:40 a.m. After landing, we joined the terminal F22 from Charles de Gaule airport. We were see stores of the terminal, then we played with cards and talked until our plane from 9:50 a.m. We embarked at 9:30 on board of our aircraft. We were more excited to reach the Denmark. We finally took off at 10:00 a.m. and we arrived 2 hours later at Copenhagen Airport. Then, we recovered our luggage and the train tickets to Copenhagen Central station. Once arrived at the station, we walked a little to reach our hotel next to the station. After depositing our luggage in our hotel rooms, we descended to took the picnic in the restaurant of the hotel. We couldn’t have gone to eat at the Orsteds Park because it was raining.

Around 2:30 p.m., we walked to the centre of Copenhagen, under the rain. After a short presentation of some buildings of the city, by our teachers, we had a free time of quarter past one hour in Copenhagen. With Vincent, Noé and Hugo, we went to the Copenhagen Lego store because I love Lego and I had never been in a Lego stores, it was great, there was Lego everywhere! After we continued to visit the centre of Copenhagen, as we walk through the large and the small streets. Copenhagen is a beautiful city and the architectural style of the city is very beautiful.

At 4:15 p.m., at the end of our free time, we went to the Tivoli Park, right next to Copenhagen City Hall. The park was beautiful. It is decorated with buildings such as the Taj Mahal, pagodas, etc... The Park is huge and is filled with attraction. We spent nearly 5 hours in this amusement park. Could be full of different coaster, the Octopus, the Eagles, the mine train, etc... Full of also great attraction than the other.

Around 7 p.m., we have eaten in the Park at the terrace of a restaurant where we ate a hamburger with chips. It was very good. Then, we have continued to make attractions until 9 p.m. and we left the park to go to the hotel.

Finally, we went to bed at 10: 00 p.m.

Day 2: Wednesday 27 April

We woke up at 7:00 this morning. After, we be prepared, we went to take a Danish breakfast at 8:00 in the restaurant of the hotel. At 9:00 a.m., we left our hotel in bike to visit Copenhagen. We visited Copenhagen and we were stopping several times to see the opera, Harbour, Nyhavn houses and Amalienborg Palace. Around 10:00 a.m., we came to the Little Mermaid. She is very pretty but personally I find it a bit small.

After that, we took the direction of the centre of Copenhagen. We even stopped to see the castle of Copenhagen and St Alban's Church. Then, we finished our visit through the centre of Copenhagen, to join our restaurant Spisehuset Rub & Stub. The concept of this restaurant is to recover limit expiration dates of products in supermarkets and prepare them to serve customers. After the explanations of the manager of the restaurant, we chose our drinks, and then, she brought us the meal with bread. It was a pie of vegetables with a potato salad. It wasn't bad but there's really not enough to eat.

After the meal, our teachers have given us 30 minutes of free time in Copenhagen. After this free time, we returned to the hotel where we made bikes and retrieved our suitcases. At 2: 15 p.m., we left the hotel and we headed towards the central station in Copenhagen just next to the hotel. We did the tour from the station and, at 2:50 p.m., our train to Herning arrived.

We arrived in Herning at 17:58 after 3 hours of train. When we got out of the train, our correspondent and their parents was waiting for us. I can have met the parents of my correspondent and their dog Anton. We returned on foot from the train station to her home, because she lives just nearby. She lives in a large house with a large garden. After made me visit his home, we played cards until the meal. Around 8.30 p.m., Mette Marie, Anton and I went out to visit Herning. Herning is a beautiful city. We went into the centre of the city, and I could have seen the Church, the Town Hall, the shopping streets, but also residential quarter and his school. All the houses are made in red brick; this is really different from our French houses!

Around 10:00 p.m., we came back. We took our showers, and then, we went to bed.

Day 3: Thursday 28 April

This morning, we woke up at 6:40 and we took our breakfast all together at 7:00 a.m. It was my second Danish breakfast. I ate Danish bread with butter and 2 bars of chocolate called Galle & Jessen and an another piece of bread with raspberry jam. It was delicious. I also had a hot chocolate made by the father of my correspondent. He was very good.

At 07:40 a.m., we left the Mette Marie’s house, and we went to Herning Gymnasium, his school, with his car. At about 8:05 a.m., the head of the first school classes has welcomed us and gave us a few Danish pastries. Then, we had classes with Bente, who taught us numbers, colors, and the days of the week in Danish. Finally, around 9:45 a.m., terminal students of the school, did us visit Herning Gymnasium. After the visit, we were presented to students of the school after a speech by Britt. Then, we went to eat on tables in the school. I've eaten two ham, butter and salad sandwiches.

At 12:45 a.m., we had English classes with Tine and the 2a class, which is my corresponding class. We talked about South Africa, apartheid and Nelson Mandela, before talking about the movie "District 9". Then, our correspondents have passed presentations on this film. It was very interesting. After the English course, we had a lesson of history on the civilization of the ancient world. We had to place photos of statues by following the timeline and then we had to describe them. I found this really boring, while I love history.

Around 3:30 p.m., 15 minutes after the end of the course of history, our correspondents took us in one of the rooms of the school sport. We played a game similar to baseball. It was awesome. Then, around 4:30 p.m., me and my correspondent went back home. We watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in English, subtitled English. Then, we went to eat. This is the father of Mette Marie who made the dinner. He made homemade pizzas. It was very good! After dinner, we played with cards and then we have taken our showers. We went to bed at 10:00 p.m. after watching a little TV with Mette Marie’s family.

Around 9:30 a.m., we took the bus to go to the Energy Museum of Tange. During the visit, the guide showed us the energies used in the Denmark. The Museum was very interesting but the visit was a little annoying because the guide had a little trouble in English. After the tour, we went on a small island surrounded by a river to took our lunch. I ate the remains of pizza of yesterday. I had a pizza with chorizo and an another ham cheese, even cold it was good!

After lunch, we went in the Niels Bohr Tower, where we have a demonstration of a Tesla Tower. It was very impressive! Around 2:00 p.m., we left by bus the Museum. We arrived at 3 p.m. at the school where we attended the concert "Grønnegårdskoncert". These are the students of the school who sang: it was wonderful!

After the concert, we went with our correspondent in Baboon City. It is a park like KijouPark in Brest. We played old arcade games, karaoke, bumper cars and lots of other things. It was awesome! We ate in Baboon City, French hotdogs!

Around 9:00 p.m., we left Baboon City to return to the house of my correspondent. Once we arrived at Mette Marie’s house, her parents, she and I ate bread and sweets in front of 007 on the TV in English, subtitled Danish. Around 9:30 p.m., we took our showers and then we went to bed.

At 1:30 p.m., we all gathered to eat on the big square with the fountain of Lego. I ate sandwiches ham and salami, and some oreo. After the meal, we still split in small group again to continue the attractions. Among all those that are made, my favourite is the attraction Ice Pilots School. It's like "Dance with the robots" at the Futuroscope in France, and it was great. Before leaving, I went to the Lego Shop, to buy me something. I bought Wall-E for 449kr. We ended up leaving Legoland around 5:15 p.m.; and an hour later we arrived in Herning.

Once at my correspondent, Mette Marie, his brother, his mother and I went in the lounge to read while the father of Mette Marie was preparing the dinner. Around 7:00 p.m., we took the dinner. This day was great. I've always wanted went to Legoland and then this day was really great. Initially, between the Denmark and the USA, I wanted to go to the USA, but I have not pulled out of the hat. But I think I was lucky, because the Denmark is really great and we don’t want to leave.

Day 7: Monday, May 2

This morning, we got up at 6:40, and we took the same Danish breakfast than other days, at 7:00 a.m. We took the bike to went to school where we arrived at 7:51 a.m. We went in the classroom 12.14 and then, after some explanations from the teacher of biology, we went to the Herning Lake by bike. We have seen showed the first house built in Herning, the artificial Hill, the Church, the Town Hall and the hospital. Then after that, we returned to Herning Gymnasium. As soon as Mette Marie had finished her course, we went to the library of Herning since she no longer had internet to work at house. I therefore begin to write my travel diary while working beside me.

At 6:30 p.m., we returned to Mette Marie’s home. We still read all together in the lounge before took the dinner. At 20 o’clock, Mette Marie, his father, his brother and me, walked in the forest with their dog, Anton. We got home at 9:00 p.m. Then, we watched TV while eating some candy. At 9:30 p.m., the mother of Mette Marie turned off the television and then we went to take our showers and we went to bed.

Day 8: Tuesday, May 3

Like the other day, I got up at 6:40 a.m. Then I took the same lunch than usual with the family of my correspondent at 7:00 a.m. Unfortunately, today it was raining. So we took the car to went to Herning Gymnasium. We started our day with an English course. In this course, we studied a newspaper online article by answering questions. Then we had a course of French with Britt, and Spanish course where we created a play in Spanish.

After lunch, we had another course of French where we worked on Oradour-sur-Glane. Then we ended our day with a course of history where we had to describe and interpret propaganda posters. Personally, I found this course really annoying. After this last course, at 3.15 p.m., we went to Saloma’s home, to celebrate the birthday of Laurent. There is a little lost but we managed to get home before the cakes are eaten. Saloma had prepared many things. There were cakes, fruits, drinks, heads of Negroes (or snowball), etc... It was very good. After eating, we went to walk in the fields; and me, Noé and Louise, we ran after the cows.

Then, we came back to my correspondent’s house, by car. Once home, I started to do my suitcase and then we went to eat. I finally ate Danish black bread. It was accompanied by beef, pork and vegetables. It wasn't bad, but it was special. After dinner, I finished making my suitcase, and then I took my shower before watched TV one last time with the Mette Marie’s family. After, we went to bed at 9:45 pm.

Day 9: Wednesday, May 4

This morning, I got up at 5:10 a.m. I didn’t take breakfast before leaving the house of my correspondent at 5:30 a.m. Mette Marie's mother didn’t want that I ate before leaving because she knew I wouldn't starve. She has therefore prepared a bag with my breakfast and my lunch. One we arrived in the Herning Train Station, he all hoped that the train does arrive but it arrived. We left our families at 6:02 a.m. It was very moving. But is surely not the last time that I see her because I offered to return to France if she wanted. Maybe this summer!

Around 7:30 a.m., I took my breakfast on the train. It was very good! The mother of my correspondent had thought of everything: the bottled of chocolate milk, the brick of orange juice, the bread. It was really great!

We arrived at Copenhagen Airport with a 1 hour of delay due of the work on the train tracks. We recorded our luggage, and then, we ate our lunch before the airport controls. Later, we walked in the airport until our plane.

We embarked at 12:00 p.m. We took off at 12:30 p.m. On the plane I was on the side of the door, and so I was able to see all the Danish coast since the aircraft. It was wonderful. We landed at Charles de Gaulle at 2:30 p.m. Once out of our plane, we had to pass through control of fonts, and then we waited in our air terminal. While waiting for the plane, I went to buy Ladurée macaroons and chocolates from the House of the chocolates of Paris.

We embarked at 16:00 p.m. on our plane, and we took off at 16:30 p.m. After 1 hour of flight, we arrived in Brest at 17:30 p.m. We have recovered our luggage then we went to joined our parents where we had left them when we left, 10 days ago.

I think this has been one of my most beautiful trips! We discovered an another country, an another way of living, and especially a very different mentality from ours. We met great people. The families welcomed us as a member of their families.

Those 10 days were 10 days of happiness and 10 wonderful days. Thanks to Mr. Losque, M. Grimault, Britt and Bente but also to Herning Gymnasium and La Croix Rouge La Salle without they we would never have lived this Exchange; but also thanks to our correspondents and their families for all that they have done for us.

Tak for alt.
