Lenny Gorsky is the best vert skater in his school and he might be the best vert skater in the world one day. Our interviewer asked him some questions about this very popular sport.

Int.: How old are you, Lenny, and when did you start skating ?

Lenny : I'm 16 and I started skating two years ago.

Int.: Lenny, can you explain to our readers the difference between vert skating and street skating ?

Lenny: Well, in street skating, you have to learn between 9 and 17 different and tricks : fly off ramps, jump over cans and bins, slide along rails and benches. In vert skating, you have to learn more tricks, between 15 and 19, but you don't have to do tricks on rails or benches or other street obstacles, only on ramps, and the ramps are higher;

Int.: The ramps ?
Lenny: You see, we do our tricks on a ramp called a half-pipe. In vert skating, the ramp is 10 or 12 feet high, higher than in street where the ramp is from 3 to 10 feet high only!

Int.: Only! It sounds very high to me, and very dangerous!
