Où j'en suis dans mon devoir

"I will talk about the brand « Faguo ». I think that people in this room know it. It’s a brand of shoes, created in 2009 by 2 students in school of business in France. Today, thanks to this brand, their firm has a turnover of around 1 million of euro.

This brand is positioned on the casual and trendy shoes market. They have started with shoes in cotton, and then they are diversified in the leather, suede and ankle shoes.

From the very beginning, the Faguo have been successful. Indeed, the 5000 pairs of shoes planned for the next 6 months were sold in 3 weeks only. 2 years after the beginning of the brand, sneakers are still very successful in France and abroad, with hundreds of shops and also an e-shop. There are many collections with different materials and a dozen of colours.

Their products are designed to the people, man an d woman, between 15 and 30 year. Recently they are launched on the segment of children.

As you can see, there is no logo on the shoe but a coconut button. It has become distinguishing feature of the brand.
They are sold between 50 and 90 euro.

But you must to wonder “How simple student gets to have a turnover of one million euro?" "Why this brand is developed so fast?”

You must know that to launch this brand they borrowed 50 000 euro from friends. Their communication budget was of 0 euro. But to attire the media they decided to surf on the waves of ecology. For this, they had the idea to compensate the CO2 emissions needed to create their shoes, by planting a tree for each shoe. Because the tree absorb CO2. Hence, their slogan “Buy 1 pair of shoes = Plant 1 tree!”. It’s a very good marketing concept because the people are sensible at the nature and this allows them to differentiate themselves from their competitors. Already more than 70 000 trees have been planted in France and in Belgium!

Moreover, thanks to that, they were invited on TV, and a lot of magazines speak of themselves.

To communicate, they also use social networks like facebook and organizes competitions. For example, currently, they offer a pair of shoes to the best photo made with Faguo shoes. It costs nothing to the brand but it creates the buzz.
Besides, he sponsor students event, like the 4L Trophy.

To conclude, I like this brand because their products are stylish, well made and of good quality. And also because these students are start from nothing, but they are succeed! It makes your wonder…"
