Introduction
I'm going to talk about the idea of progress. To begin with, I'd like to give a definition of progress. The idea of progress basically consists in believing that the world can become better in terms of art, science, technology, liberty, and quality of life. However, sometimes progress causes more problems than it solves.We can ask ourselves what effect does the technological progress has on our society. Consequently, we will see at first the positive aspects of progress and finally in a second time we will see the negative aspects of progress in science and new technologies
Positive aspects of progress

First, we studied an IEEE poster entitled "Productive and Comfortable Life". This document shows the effects of new technologies on our daily lives. Electronic devices such as smartphones, computers or robots that make our lives easier and more productive and enjoy a more comfortable life. Other technologies, such as rockets or remote communications, can push our limits. Indeed, thanks to the advances in technology in the field of astronautics, the rockets allowed us to explore the Moon.
Thanks to the progression of digital social networks, for example, we can find old friends or chat with family. All this while staying at home. We can have an instant discussion with a friend thousands of miles away from home. Thanks to the Internet, we have access to all kinds of information at all times. The social network is part of our lives because of its speed and ease of use. As a result, new technologies in general have improved our living conditions.Progress is not always beneficial to humans.

Negative aspects of progress

However, progress begins to go beyond the human and eventually undergo it. First, we studied an animated film by Steve Cutts that shows the consequences of the over-consumption of electronic products that leads to the destruction of the environment by pollution. This film denounces the programmed obsolescence led by the big industrialists to buy their latest phone.
We also listened to a song by Prince EA that denounced the consequences of social networks on society and advised addicts to spend more time outdoors with friends than to stay alone. Addiction to new technology has recently become a phenomenon among young people. We can say that the Internet and social networks isolate us in a virtual world, creating a lack of human contact and making some people disconnected from the real world. In addition, recent studies show that cell phones could have an impact on our health.

To conclude , progress can be something very positive which improves the human condition. However, it can be dangerous if it is misused
