Daniel Defoe was born in 1660 near London and died in 1731 of an unknown cause. He is an English novelist, whose main genre is the novel. He is also an adventurer, a trader and a political agent. He is the author of Robison Crusoe, an adventure novel published in 1719 in editions W. Taylo and translated into many languages. For the last fifteen years of his life he has written several original works that have achieved great success.
