Spaces and Exchanges.

I am going to talk to you about the notion spaces and exchanges which can be defined as places more or less big, but also the real and virtual spaces. The exchanges can define themselves as the business, political and social connections. That is why I would like to raise the following question: how exchanges evolved in our society?

First of all, in class we studied a text which is called "From Paper to screen". Title already points to us out that to get daily information, it is not any more similarly. Indeed, "From paper" brings us back in the past as well as in the paper newspapers to read information. While "To screen" it is the current way we read information, that is to say thanks to new technologies. The telephone, bars, computers, to generalise the use of Internet allows us to receive, to read, to search information instantly. We also studied a comic strip which underlines the fact that there is " generation gap " when it is a question of enquiring. The young people have tendency to go on their smart phones contrary to some persons who favour newspapers. Finally, the lack of interest for the printed press simple percentage the reader youth. Areas change therefore and it concentrates on our smartphones where it is possible to make different things there, is multifunctional. It is the digital beginning of epoch. One of the major developments in the most recent years simple percentage the Internet and the different social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Skype. This simple percentage has new way to communicate today. These networks make it easier for us to stay in touch with friends and family, they open up borders and enable us to communicate with people abroad.

However there are also disadvantages to this fast development of internet: there is a lot of false information available, people can become addicted and spend less time with friends and family, there are others dangers such as bullying , pornography, identity theft.  Internet can create new forms of delinquency.  In the past, radio was used by Hitler to unify angry crowds and manipulate crowds. Similarly in the 1990’s, radio was used to track down Tutsis and perform a gendercide in Rwanda. We studied an article, where the author makes the point that internet and social networks can also be used as a destructive tools. He gives an exemple of mob beating in Wisconsin, riots in England which were all organized through social networks. They point out therefore that all forms of media allow to exchange, and that Internet was only making its exchanges easier across the world. However there can be serious consequences.

To conclude, exchanges intensified and strongly evolved allowing to exceed frontiers. Media is a manipulative and dangerous tool but also have many positive functions. Thanks to social networks or to sites where it is possible to find his childhood friends, friends of exchanges could come into the world and in licence to bring closer to many people.

Bonjour, juste une faute oubliée :

"Similarly in the 1990’s, radio was used to track down Tutsis and perform a gendercide in Rwanda" => C'est "genocide". Et d'ailleurs, on utilise plus "commit genocide" que "perform a genocide".

Bon courage
