Bonjour, je suis actuellement en Terminal STI2D et je prépare mes notions d'anglais, j'aimerai savoir si les textes que j'ai préparer correspondent bien au thème :

 

Spaces and Exchanges

I'm going to talk about the spaces an exchanges.

First of all I would like to give a definition of «Exchange».It’s a continuous movement or circulation. It includes all type of exchanges : people, trade or media. A society can be approached from the point of view of its cohesion and openness, which raises questions about its place in the world. The geography of commercial channels and networks of influence, but also the discovery and conquest of new land constitute new cultural areas which often transcend the borders of a States. The border which limit two spaces will sometimes seen as a protection against the other or otherwise the opening to a larger space. The space can evolve and take different forms. However, we decided to focus our work on the United States.The concept «Spaces and Exchanges» illustrates the theme of the discovery of new space so it implies the discovery of new territories, the major waves of immigration, the fact of transgressing the frontier and finally the travel which involves the search of new experiences or a sense of community . Today we see that despite a very uneven level of development, the world has never been such integrated. We are witnessing exchanges of all kinds are in culture, arts, science, philosophy, religion, and more generally in everyday use. It is a way to unify people.

We may wonder to what extent the advantages of moving to another country to study or find work ?

To my mind, the documents thats seems to best illustrate the notion is 'Learning foreign languages at school', ' A year off to Volunteer'.

First, let's examine why it's more important to learning foreign languages at school.

To learn a foreign language, it is the passport towards the different language, the different culture, the uses that are foreign to us. And the opening towards this diversity will be strong even if the language is little practised: leave on the meeting of speaking people Finnish expects so many beautiful discoveries as in the direction of English.To learn another language will also be one more for the traveler, who will have fewer difficulties communicating with his/her fellow men by arriving in a new country. To speak the language of the country is also reassuring for people whom you meet that for you. It is also the way, to understand better a culture and thus to pull a bigger profit of it's journey. More indirectly, learn a foreign language develop and pushes away the cognitive capacities of the learner. With such a learning, it's as if we threw a permanent challenge to its brain: assimilate new knowledge with the learning of a dialect different from his.
Language skills, besides diamonds diplomas, are elements which can be determining in the search of a satisfactory employment. It has been a long time since this need concerns more the only sector of the tourism. Uses are every day more numerous, in the sectors of the communication, the marketing, the business, the industry, which require to speak correctly at least a foreign language, besides its mother language.

The training of a language makes it possible to develop a base of competences, which is beneficial for the professional career and the employability. It also makes it possible to developthe creativity, of competences in communication and the effective strategies of training. To learn the languages increases at the same time cognitive competences (for example capacity to analyze,interpret and evaluate data by showing critical spirit) and practical competences (like speakingand writing as well in another language as in its mother tongue). To learn a foreign language makes it possible to open new work appropriatenesses orto develop a new occupation, because to communicate with potential customers in their language can often make all the difference.
We can make a link between the document and the notion because we find the idea of exchange in the possibility that offers the learning of another language and by relationship also to the fact of traveling where we wish to.

Besides there is another way of learning one foreign language it's a gap year.
By making a gap year, the student acquires several new skills, he wins in the experience of the work, he helps the others, his environment, he can reflect about his route of studies, learn and share with other people, discover new cultures and set in maturity. During the gap year, the student will help the family which accommodates him voluntarily, he has to not be afraid of travelling. This year will allow him to acquire bases more solid in a foreign language in his and will be favorable to him in the pursuit of these studies and can only enrich its cv for its job later. Although this practice stays Unpopular, she allows the student to reflect during one years about her projects and to discover different lifestyles of his and to share with other person in the world. For exemple in class we studed a interivew of an American who had several gaps year to her credit, she does not have to deny the difficulty
but nevertheless, if the person in the motivation it's worth trying the adventure.

We can established a link with the notion, Spaces and Exchange because by devoting to this pratice, the student can think about his future while learning news languages. Besideshe sets of the maturity thanks to the various tasks wich are confided to him in the difficulty of the estrangement with his family and his friends. During the sabbatical year,
he can make casual jobs which he can add afterward, who will get form him an international expereience.

We should bear in mind that to learn foreign languages it's difficult, just like the gap year, but to be able to speack several languages is an opening on the wordl because thanks to the languages it's easier to travel, to have a dialogue with people wich does not speack out maternal language. A better accessibility to the employment in intended, better one organization in the work, and a more accomplished reflection adds in it for the young people.

To conclude, we can consider that the division and discovery make party of the exchange. The learning of several remains to desire for some people, bu can be that these do not realize that the learning is worth it seen repercussions on intended, as well as all the opportunities offered by some language so good in the professional domain as the leisure. For the pursuit mastered perfectly the second language can be an asset mattering to the job envisaged afterward, thus for me, the learning of a new language is not to be neglected and cannot make only the good.

I am going talk about the places an forms of power
First of all I would like to give a definition of «Power». It’s the ability or official capacity to exercise control or authority over others. It can be a person, a group, or a nation having great influence over people. Power is exercised through a variety of relationships sustained or accepted, often internalized. Power affects more than personal relationships, it shapes larger dynamics like social groups, professional organizations, and governments. There can be good or bad types of power. The notion of power implies a basic division between those who have and exercise power and those who have none or little of it . Even when authority seems absolute, there are always counter-powers which question it, aim at limiting its excesses and resist it. Power can exist in different place, at the different levels. We can evoke the power of a head of state on his nation. A government’s power is not necessarily limited to control of its own citizens. A dominant nation, for instance, will often use its clout to influence or support other governments or to seize control of other nation states. We can also evoke the power of a men or the power of men over women, that is to say, machism.The concept «Locations and forms of power» includes the differents forms of power, the submission or the opposition over the power.

How can we depict the differents forms of power, in various places ?

This notion can be illustrated with the example of the power of the media.
If we look at the power of the media for example we can see how much it can influence the public opinion. The mass media plays an important role in forming our personality, enriching our knowledge, providing us with information of any kind.
Mass media can have an effect on our personal identity: it can help us to feel that we are part of a group (social networks) but on the other hand it can contribute to a feeling of isolation.
Media can have a strong political influence or can shape the way we perceive certain groups of society – minority groups, pressure groups…mass media is powerful because it makes us believe what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour (reality TV).
However it can also have harmful impact on society:
– On-screen violence leading to actual violence (violent video games/films)
– Identity or financial fraud on the internet people to fraud, especially identity fraud.
- The dangers for children who are able to access Internet material inappropriate for their age.
- The Internet can facilitate an invasion of privacy – (chat rooms, social networks, bullying).
In class, we studied a passage that is connected to the notion and it will help me answer the key question.
First, examine why the media have they so much influence.
Let's begin with dissemination of information :

The big interest which present the media, whether it is the print media, the television, the Internet or still the radio, is to inform quickly and widely most of the population of the "important" facts and the events, the country and the whole world. So each thanks to the TV set either of radio, its computer, or still by buying the newspaper, has a report of the last events which allows him to keep abreast about the world and national situation.The media can have their clean sources thanks to their special correspondents or still their teams and different no surveillance. But since the attack of Londre in 2005, the media receive the majority of their information by means of people filming the facts-miscellaneous or still the various buzzes which could possibly interest the media. These phenomena took place because of the gravest news items and so allowed in media to have wider and more immediate information.
Besides the media have an immense radius of action thanks to the new technologies. That is the media propagate their information via the newspaper, the television, the internet, the radio.
In spite of all these ways of transmissions, the most important remain the internet and the radio because Several differences are noticed between Web and television. Among others, with the internet every individual can look for at any time any information of his choice whereas the TV being a media of mass, the same channels are followed by everybody. However, if the TV offers an ease of use with the button which we activate, it is not the case for the internet which requires demands an enormous intellectual effort because of the navigation browsing. In it, in terms of cost, we notice that Web is cheaper than the TV. Idem, for newspapers papers where the production cost is raised brought up with regard to compared with the on-line site which spreads broadcasts the same information. In Ivory Coast for example, companies of paper press closed because of high cost of impression printing.The domain of the radio merged with the various departments which proposes the internet. It is an opportunity which marks a fast evolution of the radio towards other fields of use. The radio transmitter is installed in all the possible places today. The radio is joined into the system of showers. The radio worries us when our hands are on the steering wheel. It is present for our heard and leaves besides our others smell fussing as they please.

Let's move on to another point, namely, is the information revealed by the media safe?
Besides the role of information, the media can also help us to understand the current events by interpreting the facts. So by buying " newspapers of opinion " attached to various political parties we can study the various reactions in front of events with which we are confronted.
The risk here is to become attached to an opinion which 'dictates' us of what we think.
We realize that the presentation of the same information in a large number of people tends to create a kind of common thought. Indeed the freedom of the media in the democratic countries sometimes leads to skids and diversions of information, whereas the control of the press (especially in the dictatorships) by the State risks to cause censorship and propaganda. So sometimes the press is subjected(submitted) to the government, but sometimes it is against this one. In the democratic countries the media are called by some the " fourth power ".
The censorship is a part in particular of the repressive arsenal of the dictatorships. It remains even today present in numerous countries. In Europe the censorship is fought for the XVIIth century.
The censorship is translated by a control of the spread information, by powers ready, so guiding the media towards the information which are not unfavorable to them.
The " Spiral of the silence ": the domination of the mediatized thought
The media offer the same information to a large number of people, and they present the events with their opinion of the facts, especially for the press (Liberation is socialist; The Humanity is communist; Le Figaro is right-wing).
So people have access only to an opinion, that they believe to be the one shared by the largest number of people. The effect of the spiral of the silence is that people analyze constantly the opinions crossing the public place not to emit(utter) an opinion which would place them outside society. If they see that the media favor an opinion which is not theirs, they will not dare to express themselves, believing that they are alone to think of it (what is not necessarily the case). So the others opinions die, even if they are shared by a significant number of people, making way by keeping silent in the mediatized information. That's why it is called Siprale of silence.
We should bear in mind that the media by internet are magnificent because they allow to inquire everywhere at any time and on any subject but it is necessary to pay attentions as for the truthfulness of the information, which sometimes can be false and dangerous. As we saw it in class with the document ' looting flash ' the terrorists used the digital media to spend false one information to combine several people and make an attack.

To conclude, I think that the media are essential to be held news of the world, but you should not leave the thought altered by the various information because she are not always true. On the contrary, the media can go too far to their subject. The information is not forcing interpreted in the same way by the people according to the subject, for example ' the attack against Charlie Hebdo to arouse full of upheavals, for causes of different notices. We can find this type of phenomenon in an entitled movie ' 8th Wonderland ' which redraws a phenomenon of mass created by millions of people, which have to decide to set up a cyber-democracy which is going to touch the dictatorship and the terrorism.

Pour le moment j'ai préparer que ces 2 notions pour savoir si ma façon de procéder est bonne...ou pas.

niveau temps cela est peut être un peu long non ?

La notion doit tenir 5 minutes au maximum. Et au vu du détail que tu as écris cela me semble trop détailler..

J'ai eu la flemme de lire mais voila comment il faut procéder 

INTRO: Definition + problematique + annonce des documents que tu traiteras pour repondre a la problematique 

DEV: Résumer de chaques documents, personnages, films vu en classe qui bien sur ont pour but de répondre a la pb (ex; pour myth and heroes tu peux dans un premier paraagraphe présenter un hero vu en classe et dans un deuxieme un mythe, etc.) 

CONCLU: Réponse à la problématique (SYNTHETISER) 

Synthetiser est super important pour que tu comprennes plus facilement de quoi tu dois parler, et surtout pour que tu sois dans les temps soit (5min)
