Ma prof d'anglais est tres dure et il me faut une bonne traduction , merci beaucoup) : Le projet naît en 1948 sous la forme d'une note interne de Walt Disney. En 1952, il marque une étape avec la création de WED Entreprises, une société dédiée à la conception du parc. Après un an de travaux, et un investissement de 17 millions de $ dollars , le parc est inauguré le samedi 17 juillet 1955 et ouvre au public le lendemain. L'inauguration est retransmise à la télévision dans une émission spéciale nommée Dateline : Disneyland diffusée sur ABC Elle était présentée par Walt Disney et de nombreux acteurs ou personnalités d'Hollywood dont Ronald Reagan, Bobby Driscoll, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. et Fess Parker (Davy Crockett).Le parc Disneyland en Californie est le premier des parcs Disney, et le seul « royaume enchanté » conçu et vu par Walt Disney. Walt Disney dut pour le construire emprunter de l'argent en partie à ABC en échange de la production de la fameuse série Disneyland nommée par la suite Wonderful World of Walt Disney.
Le parc a été construit sur une ancienne orangeraie d'Anaheim , dans le comté d'Orange, à une trentaine de kilomètres au sud-est de Los Angeles. C'est le plus petit des royaumes enchantés de Disney. Le parc est surnommé « L'endroit le plus joyeux du monde »
