Où j'en suis dans mon devoir

I studied this year the notion of progress. The subject that I am going to treat is Consumerism. Consumerism concerns people who buy a lot of things and spend money they don't need and spend money they don't gave. They are attached to make the materialistic values of things. Consumerism concerns 4 aspects: the ways, the overconsumption, te limits and solutions.
. This last decades the progress have accelerate but in spite many problems have emergered especially about the ethnical, social and environment consequences. The most important problem today is about te consumption and the excesses of our society.

Thus, we can wonder « How can people change their consuming habits?
My presentation will fall into 2 parts . Firstly the different ways and the overconsumption . Then the solutions and the limits
To answer this question , we studied this year 3 documents from the book. The first is about consumption or overconsumtion, the second document is about freeganism and the last is a picture about fair trade.

Firstly, i will talk about the different ways and the overconsumption . We learnt that The mall of America is the biggest shopping center in America , it can the symbol of the consomation with all of thr stores business restaurantes and the Mall attract many people especially shopaholices. The quotation « Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like » (Will Rogers) tell that people buy unecessary and useless items just because they are in the mood of buying or because they need to show they have money. Morever, in America people celebrate the Black Friday, it's the busiest shopping day in the USA and marks the begenning of the Christmas shopping season. An another day important in America is Mega monday, it's te busiest online shopping day before Christmas. With all of this things we can say that the overconsumpion and shopping frenzy is American.
Then, i'm going to talk about the solutions and of limits consumerism. The solutions for the consumption are for examples freeganism. Freeganism is the practice of reclaming and eating food that has been discarted, a freegan wants to reduce waste and to protect the environment, he buys as little as possible. We can evoke an important day in USA named Buy nothing day, it's an international day of protest against consumersim. We studied also in class a picture entitled «It's cool to be fair», it's an ad for a public awareness campaign to buy fair trade products. There is 7 asian or latin american teenagars who seem to work on the rebuilding of a house. We can a logo and a slogan which show why is important to buy fair trade products. The message of this picture is to give the possibilty for producers to live decently and for us to by items at a reasonable price. That's while buying fair trade products is an issue for the producers who meet different pronlems in their country.

To conclude, i would like to say t it's very important to protect our planet at the time of today, people have to change their mode of consumption because buying for buying is not a solution. If we so continue we shall not move forward to the progress, it is important to change our lifestyle to limit the pollution for us and the generation to come.I think that it let us act there all together that we shall reach has to make to change things
